'Happy Birthday to a Beautiful Woman: A Portrait of My Mother'

The CAC collaborates with the New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) to present this short documentary that artist Mickalene Thomas produced about her mother and artistic muse, Sandra Bush. This poignant portrait of her mother is a tender look back at a lifetime's worth of hopes, regrets, and redemption.

Following the film, Dr. Mora Beauchamp-Byrd, Interim Director of the New Orleans African American Museum, will facilitate a conversation with Ms. Thomas and the audience.
